The Birlinn summer party took place on 14th August in Edinburgh, and was granted a reprieve from the persistent rain threatening to make the event a complete wash out.

However, the fine conditions allowed guests to fully appreciate the beautiful setting of Moray Place Gardens, lit with lanterns and outdoor lightening, and the mild evening permitted the crowd to spill out of the marquee and mingle freely without fear of a soaking.

Alexander Mccall Smith was in attendance, as was TV legend Glen Michael, whose autobiography Life’s a Cavalcade Birlinn is publishing later in the year, and Sir David Steel.
