Birlinn and Polygon have taken a bold new step into the world of video promotion, and this month the first fruits of their new venture can be seen on this website, and also various social networking sites including Youtube, Bebo and Facebook. Polygon’s book of the month, Savage Night by Allan Guthrie, is the first in what will hopefully be a successful stream of video promotions for key titles in the future. The trailer for Savage Night features an exclusive interview with Allan and suspenseful tasters from scenes in the book created to convey the sinister elements of his writing.

Birlinn’s debut video promotion will follow shortly for Alistair Moffat’s forthcoming book, The Wall. However, a video clip from The Whisky Dream TV documentary broadcast in January 2008 on BBC Two, of which the companion book Whisky Dream is due to be published in June 2008, can be viewed on this website now.
